Columbus Day Crafts

Hello and Happy Columbus Day! Since it is Columbus Day, I thought I'd show you all some fun Columbus themed crafts. I'll show you how to make a sailor hat, a telescope, and a sail. (for if you are making a ship to "sail" around in.) So without further ado, let's get started!

Sailor Hat
You'll Need:
1 full sheet of newspaper
Scissors
Tape
Take your newspaper and cut it (vertically) in half. Fold it down into a square. Next, fold the two top corners inwards like you would do for a paper airplane. Trim off the excess paper at the bottom, and fold the remaining paper up. Repeat on the other side. Done!

 Telescope
You'll Need:
1 large sheet of black construction paper
1 sheet of yellow paper
Scissors
Tape
First, roll your black paper into a tube and tape it. Next, cut a strip of yellow paper and tape it around one end of the black tube. Trim the edges for a perfect look, and you're done!

 Galleon Sail
You'll Need:
2 large white sheets of construction paper
1 large red sheet of construction paper
Scissors
Tape
Lay out your white sheets next to each other and tape them together. Cut your red sheet in half vertically and trim one an inch or two shorter. Tape them onto the white with the shorter one going vertically and the longer one horizontal. All done! You can tape this flag onto a curtain rod or stick if you want.
